Press Release – OEC Employees Seeking Grant Applications

Oconto Electric Employees are seeking grant applications for its annual Employee Charity program. The application period is open now until November 30, 2016. Funds will be dispersed late 2017/early 2018.

Organizations that are classified as exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code with a valid IRS Tax ID are eligible to apply for the grant.

In 2016 the program awarded $6,000 to the Lena Area Volunteer Fire Department and $6,000 to Rainbow House. Since 2004, the Oconto Electric Employee Charity program has awarded $68,000 to local charities and organizations. Each year Oconto Electric Cooperative employees choose a charity to raise money for. Fundraisers include candy bar sale, Bag Lunch to Go, motorcycle ride, and an employee golf outing.

Scholarship Available for pre-law or law student with interest in cooperative law

The Federated Youth Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will award the second Charles Van Sickle Scholarship this winter. The $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a pre-law or law student who has an interest in cooperative law. The scholarship is made possible by an endowment established in 2013 to honor Wisconsin’s renowned electric cooperative lobbyist and attorney, the late Charles Van Sickle. The scholarship will be awarded prior to the Spring 2016 semester.

OEC Seasonal Installation Rates Effective November 1st

Seasonal Installation (NON-REFUNDABLE) –   OEC’s seasonal installation will be in effect November 1st thru April 15th.  Installation during this time frame has additional costs due to poor weather or site conditions.  This is a non-refundable cost.
