PART TIME RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE

Oconto Electric Cooperative needs to add to our sales team at our RadioShack/Cellcom store in Oconto Falls.

  • Primary job duties include assisting customers with retail and cellular sales, basic cash handling and inventory responsibilities.
  • Qualifications required would includebasic computer and cellular knowledge, strong communication skills and flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings and some Saturdays. This is a long-term position, not seasonal.
  • We offer a competitive wage and commission structure, one month advance scheduling and an employee wireless plan.

Charles Van Sickle Scholarship

2019 Charles Van Sickle Scholarship 

The Federated Youth Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will award the third Charles Van Sickle Scholarship in 2019. The $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a pre-law or law student who has an interest in cooperative law. The scholarship is made possible by an endowment established in 2013 to honor Wisconsin’s renowned electric cooperative lobbyist and attorney, the late Charles Van Sickle. The scholarship will be awarded during the Spring 2019 semester.

Oconto Electric is pleased to choose one delegate to represent our local co-op at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. The trip is hosted by NRECA and all expenses are paid by Oconto Electric, according to our cooperative principles to support youth and community.

More than 1,500 high school students from across the country gather for a week in June in our nation’s capitol to learn about cooperatives, the rural electric program, U.S. government, democracy and history. Youth Tour delegates meet congressional leaders and tour our national monuments, Arlington National Cemetery and the Smithsonian Museums.

Any current high school sophomore or junior whose parent or guardian is a residential member of Oconto Electric Cooperative is eligible. (Residential is defined as having the primary residence within OEC’s service territory.)
